Lifts open tomorrow: “No way! But probably Friday”

Yesterday afternoon it really started coming down hard in Niseko and continued overnight and today.

Across the resort the crude but undeniably fitting phrase ‘it’s puking!’, and the Japanese ‘すごい降ってるなあ!’ (sugoi futteru naa - it's amazing snow, isn't it!), were used liberally.

It’s safe to say there’s about a foot or more of powder piling up off thoroughfares, and even the roads are nicely sealed with a thick coat of dry, grippy snow.

It’s forecast to warm up slightly and possibly drop a little rain tomorrow (??) but another low pressure system should bless us on Wednesday.
